General Worker: Maturation & Distillation (Ref: GWM1808)


Purpose: Responsible to execute general tasks in the process of Distillation and Maturation of Brandy in Worcester under the supervision of the Production Controller.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • 1 year experience in a spirits environment
  • Basic numerical skills
  • Must be able to work overtime and over weekends when operationally required
  • Code B drivers licence ( added advantage)
  • Must be willing to work shifts

 Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of general cellar work
  • Administrative skills
  • No fear of heights
  • No fear for small spaces (claustrophobic)

 Job Summary:

  • Ensure of raw materials for distillation is received in line with KWV policy and procedures
  • Responsible for the distillation of brandy
  • Assist with the maturation of product by ensuring the housekeeping and stocktaking is up to standard and done in line with the company policy and procedures
  • Responsible for the dispatch of products in line with KWV policy and procedures
  • Adhere to health and safety standards
  • Operate a forklift when needed on an ad hoc basis
  • Responsible for ad hoc duties in Department as required
